The Delhi Government tries to help those who have lost their job during the lockdown and want to provide services in such crucial times. As a result, the Delhi Driver Yojana has been started to help the public. 

Delhi CM Arvind Kejariwal had announced, “Delhi Driver Yojana” for all who used to drive their auto-rickshaw, cab, school bus, e-rickshaw, taxi, etc. When the government imposed a lockdown in the city, many people were affected badly. Delhi CM launched the scheme to provide drivers with 5000 monthly to have basic amenities. Delhi Driver Yojana 

Delhi CM Arvind Kejariwal brought good news for all auto-rickshaw, cab, taxi, bus, school bus, gramin sewa, etc., drivers who lost their jobs due to lockdown. When there was the first lockdown, people managed their lives somehow, but facing the next one could be harsh.

Therefore, the Delhi CM announced “Delhi Driver Yojana” on 4 May 2021. With the help of this scheme, drivers will get ₹5000 monthly in their account directly. All drivers can get benefits under the same scheme who had registered themself with NCT Delhi. 

Objective of Delhi Driver Yojana:- 

Following the previous year’s pattern, Delhi CM stated that they would keep helping all Delhi Drivers whenever there is a lockdown. The main objective of this scheme is to help drivers so that they can have a normal life at this crucial time.

Whenever the government announces a lockdown, these drivers’ lives hit them hard, and in such situations giving them such an amount is reliable. Those facing the same problem can register themselves online and get ₹5000 monthly as announced. 

Benefits of Delhi Driver Yojana:- 

Having a mobile phone is not surprising in this era, and if you are a taxi, auto-rickshaw, cab, etc., you should apply for the Delhi Driver Yojana. Under this scheme, you will get many benefits as given below. 

  • Every month, ₹5000 will be given directly to your account. 
  • If you die, the nominee or your dependent will get the amount. 
  • The government also provides them free food and shelter to have a basic life along with the amount.  
  • This amount will be given to you whenever there is a lockdown or worst situation. 
  • The government also provides free education to their two children. 
  • To apply for the scheme, you need not go anywhere; this is an online platform, you can apply for it using your mobile phone. 
  • There are no registration fees to get this facility, a free service for all Delhi Drivers. 

Key features for Delhi Driver Sahayta Yojana:- 

You must be aware of its key features to avoid any issue while applying under the scheme. 

  • This scheme is one-time financial assistance for all Delhi drivers. 
  • You need not go anywhere as this application will be accepted only via online mode. 
  • The application should be submitted within the given period; after the final date, you won’t be able to fill out the form. 
  • Only NCT of Delhi drivers is eligible for the same scheme. 
  • Submit your application in the given period, and this year, it will be from 5 May 2022 to 19 May 2022.

Eligibility Criteria to Apply For Delhi Driver Scheme:- 

As we all know that every examination or scheme is not for all, there are some limitations or criteria to get benefits. The Delhi Driver Scheme also mentions a few eligibility requirements following the same pattern as given below.

  • The driver should be a permanent resident of Delhi with proof of residential certificate. 
  • A driver should have a driving license with an active validation date. 
  • He should be holding a PSV badge (issued before 23 March 2020).  
  • The beneficiary must be an owner of a taxi, auto-rickshaw, cab, bus, etc. In case driving another’s vehicle doesn’t come under the scheme. 
  • Drivers must have their bank account in Delhi and also all required documents. 

What is the PSV badge? 

PSV stands for Public Service Vehicle; it is a badge provided to all the drivers who deal with public transport. It is made mandatory for all the drivers of auto-rickshaw, cab, cluster buses, Gramin sewa, DTC buses, chartered buses, taxis, etc.

There is another procedure to apply for a PSV badge, and as per Delhi Driver Yojana, it should be issued before 23 March 2020.

If you are eligible to apply for the scheme, collect the below-mentioned documents, which will be required while applying online, along with some important details.

  • Bank Account Details
  • Account Number of bank
  • IFSC Code of bank
  • MICR Code of bank
  • Name of the bank
  • Address of bank branch
  • Driving License
  • Photo Identity Proof
  • Passport size photo
  • Marital Status of Applicant
  • Name of their last employer
  • Gender
  • Age of Applicant
  • Name of the Construction worker as per bank account.
  • Industry name where you worked before
  • Mobile number of the previous employer
  • Work proof
  • Valid Contact details
  • Employer Id number
  • Time duration of previous work
  • Address of the previous employer
  • Information about children you have
  • Name of Nominee
  • Nominee details
  • Relation details with the nominee
  • Children’s details like age, aadhar number, etc.

Besides these documents and details, they may ask for other information that is easy to fill in. 

Apply Online for Delhi Driver Yojana:- 

If you have all documents and are also eligible to apply for the Delhi Driver Yojana, then follow the steps to submit an online application. You need your mobile phone or computer system, check out the application procedure. 

  •  First, visit the official Delhi transport department site- www.delhi.gov.in
  • A page will be open on your screen. On the home page, search “Application for financial assistance of Rs.5000 to PSV badge holders of Paratransit vehicles” and then click it. 
  • Check the instruction page before proceeding to the next step. 
  • Now tap on the “click here” option, a form will be open for driver scheme registration. 
  • Fill out the application form and attach the required documents. 
  • In the end, click the submit button; in this way, you will submit your application. 

Process to Check Application Status:- 

As you have applied for the Delhi Driver Yojana, there is one more helpful section through which you will be able to check your application status. You can also check whether your application was accepted or rejected due to a lack of some documents. To check it, follow the below steps. 

  • Visit the Delhi transport official website- www.delhi.gov.in 
  • Tap on the home page, where you will see an option “Application status” tap it. 
  • A new page will open on your mobile screen; enter your reference number in the given blank space. 
  • After filling in the number, click on the submit button. 
  • Your application form will appear with its current status.
